Introduction to Strength Training & Powerlifting

2021-2022 Schedule

The Steadward Centre and Special Olympics Alberta – Edmonton have teamed up to offer a program to support athletes over the age of  14 to learn the basic principles of strength, power, and flexibility to improve sport performance in our new fitness center. Athletes will work with a qualified strength and conditioning coach to work on individualized sport specific goals. This class is a pre-requisite for Special Olympics  Powerlifting Program.

NOTE: Athletes should wear gym clothing as they will be working out. Running shoes, shorts/track pant, and a shirt will allow them to move comfortably. Coaches may make suggestions for any additional attire etc. Athletes that have tested positive for Atlanto –Axial Dislocation CANNOT compete in the SQUAT event.
