All about Steve and Kim
Three fun facts about Steve and Kim
1.They have a 3 year old grandson who makes them laugh!
2.They were high school sweet hearts…and they still are sweethearts!
3. Steve was a chef in their earlier days and Kim likes to teach Steve how to fish!
In their time outside Special Olympics they….
They both like to hunt and spend time with their family. In addition, Kim enjoys camping and sewing. While she is doing this, Steve can be found tinkering around in his garage!
We asked these high school sweet hearts if they could travel to one place in the world and have lunch with anyone, where would they go and who would they have lunch with. Kim would take her family to Greece and have lunch in the sun! Steve would be en route to California to have lunch with Guy Fieri!

Special Olympics Involvement
Years and areas of service
They have been involved with Special Olympics for over 5 years. They have volunteered for basically every single special event or competition you can think of. They expert Special Olympics volunteers!
We asked how Special Olympics has impacted their life
Steve’s sister was a Special Olympics athlete and they both felt like supporting SOE was important. In addition, they believe there is a lot you can learn from the athletes and they both began to see things from a different perspective; although it’s nice to win, winning isn’t everything. and that you can play the game joyfully. Also, the athletes tell REALLY funny jokes ?
Their advice for someone new who wanted to become involved with Special Olympics
Be open and accepting to everyone and everything and just enjoy your time and the wonderful people you will be spending time with!
A memorable Special Olympics moment for them
Steve: Watching an athlete stop their advance up the floor hockey field to stop and help a member of the opposition back to their feet. Then high-fiving each other before continuing the play….. of my heart!
Kim: I love going to an event for a second or third time and being recognized by the athletes!
