All About Lenny
Three fun facts about Lenny
1.I learned to dance before I learned to walk, man could I do the twist!
2.I was over a 10 lb baby and was on solid food day 1…no milk for this guy
3.I left Edmonton for a weekend and came home 18 years later….quite the Journey!
In his time outside Special Olympics he….
He likes to workout, ride his mountain bike and travel….he loooooves to travel. He also loves golfing and always get his money’s worth taking tons of shots. He has a very hectic career so he also likes to enjoy quiet times with his……remote control.  He also volunteers a lot for other organizations including an annual trip to another country for a Habitat for Humanity build. WOW LENNY!
We asked Lenny if he could travel to one place in the world and have lunch with anyone, where would he go and who would he have lunch with…
South Africa and lunch with Nelson Mandela. If he’s busy, Washington and Barrack Obama .
If Lenny had to be any animal he would be…No brainier. A Lion….King of the Jungle….need we say more!

Special Olympics Involvement
Years and areas of service
He has been involved for 18 wonderful years. He began his journey with us when he  volunteered to Bowl in the Bowl for Special Olympics. He loved the experience with the athletes so much he asked Louise Suru if she needed help….and never looked back! Lenny is pretty much our go to guy for… well, everything! When he is not helping Courtney and Celina on various projects, he is the Head Coach for our Athletics program. Busy guy that Lenny is!
How Special Olympics has impacted his life
Two words….Game Changer! It has organically taught him about a variety of things but most of all appreciation for all heisand all he has. In his words, “This old grizzly bear has found a kinder, gentler and more giving side. I’ve become a better listener though I know a few people that would argue that point! I learn far more from our athletes each week than I could ever give back, but I try”
His advice for someone new who wanted to become involved with Special Olympics
Simple- open your heart and our athletes will fill it with love.
A memorable Special Olympics moment for him
Geez, that’s a tough one! Hmmmmmm. I guess It’s the same moment that has happened several times. It happens when a parent, family member or care giver expresses the immeasurable positive impact we’ve had on our athlete as a person. At that moment it defines what we do and why.
